Dog Calories Privacy Policy

How Dog Calories collects, uses, stores, and deletes account, dog care, activity, location, notification, subscription, and support data.

Effective date: May 26, 2026
GDPR

At a glance

Dog Calories helps dog owners track dog profiles, meals, treats, daily calorie goals, walks, weights, vaccine reminders, notifications, and optional premium access.

We collect the information needed to create your account, sync your dog care records, provide app features, protect the service, handle support, and process account deletion requests.

You can delete your account in the app from Settings > Account > Delete account, or use the web deletion instructions if you cannot access the app.

1. Who we are

Dog Calories is operated by Quindart, based in Hong Kong at 2/F, Tower 1, Tern Centre, 237 Queen's Road Central, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. You can contact us at contact@quindart.com.

This policy applies to the Dog Calories mobile application, related web pages, support channels, and app store listings that link to this policy.

2. Information we collect

Account information: authentication identifiers, email address, display name, profile image, account status, and sign-in provider details handled through Clerk.

Dog care records: dog names, breeds, ages, weights, calorie goals, activity levels, profile images, meal and treat logs, notes, walk history, vaccine records, reminder schedules, and app preferences you enter.

Device and technical data: device identifiers used for sync, app version, operating system, push notification tokens, crash or diagnostic information, IP-derived request metadata, and security signals.

Purchase and entitlement data: subscription or purchase status, product identifiers, renewal or cancellation status, and store management links made available through RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Support and deletion request data: name, email address, account details, message content, and verification details you provide when contacting us.

3. Permissions and sensitive data

Location is used only when you start a GPS walk so the app can calculate distance and pace. If you choose background tracking, location may continue while the walk is active and the app is not on screen.

Photos are used only if you choose a dog profile photo from your device. Notifications are used only for reminders, care alerts, walk activity, device alerts, or related service messages you enable.

You can disable location, photo, and notification permissions in your device settings. Some features may stop working when a required permission is disabled.

4. How we use information

We use information to authenticate users, sync dog care records across devices, calculate and display daily progress, log walks and weights, send reminders, manage premium access, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and respond to support or deletion requests.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand app reliability and improve Dog Calories. We do not sell personal information.

5. Service providers

Dog Calories uses Clerk for authentication, Convex for database sync and file storage, Expo for app infrastructure and notifications, RevenueCat for purchase entitlement status, Vercel for web hosting, and Apple App Store or Google Play services for distribution and payments.

These providers process information according to their own privacy and security commitments and only as needed to provide their services to us or to you.

6. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information or publish your dog care records. We share information only with service providers, app platforms, when required by law, to protect rights and safety, in connection with a business transfer, or with your direction or consent.

Store billing, refunds, cancellation, and subscription management are handled by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. Their records may remain subject to their own policies even after you delete your Dog Calories account.

7. Retention and deletion

We retain active account and dog care data while your account exists and for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and support backups.

Deleting your account removes your Clerk account request and associated Dog Calories data from active Convex systems, including user profile records, dog profiles, food logs, weight entries, vaccine records, walk history, notifications, devices, push tokens, and uploaded dog profile images.

Backup copies, diagnostic logs, fraud-prevention records, support emails, and legally required records may be retained for a limited period, generally up to 90 days unless a longer period is required by law, security, dispute resolution, or app store obligations.

8. Your choices and rights

You can update dog profiles, delete individual dog records, adjust preferences, disable notifications, change device permissions, restore purchases, manage subscriptions through the store, or delete your account from the app.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information. Contact contact@quindart.com to make a request.

9. Children

Dog Calories is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Security and changes

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted transmission where supported. No internet or cloud service can be guaranteed completely secure.

We may update this policy as Dog Calories changes or platform requirements evolve. We will post the updated version with a new effective date.
