AI Engineer

The role

What you will be responsible for.

You will turn current AI capabilities into dependable product features. The work spans retrieval, document processing, evaluation, model orchestration, data pipelines, and the interface that helps a user understand the result.

What you will do

• Build retrieval, document-intelligence, and model-orchestration features for production products.
• Create evaluation methods that make quality, regressions, and failure modes visible.
• Work with product and engineering teammates to translate specialist knowledge into clear user flows.
• Design for source quality, privacy, latency, cost, and honest communication of uncertainty.
• Own features through implementation, release, monitoring, and improvement.

What we are looking for

• Experience shipping AI-powered software used by real customers or internal teams.
• Strong programming skills in Python or TypeScript and comfort working across APIs and data pipelines.
• Practical understanding of retrieval, prompting, structured outputs, evaluation, and model trade-offs.
• Clear written communication and the ability to explain technical decisions to non-specialists.
• Good judgment about where AI is useful, where it is risky, and where a simpler system is better.

Useful, not required

• Search, ranking, OCR, document parsing, or knowledge-management systems.
• Production observability, privacy-sensitive data, or regulated product environments.
• Building product interfaces that expose sources, confidence, or review workflows.
